So, what would you say to an 8 year old?

... about web design and development?

Firstly, thank you for being interested enough to come this far, I really appreciate it.

A little background then: I've been invited to a primary school here in the UK (Thursday 12th Feb) to talk about what I do. Said teacher assumes that I'm a web designer but its more accurate to say I'm a freelance web developer. Here's where your input comes in. I want to be able to paint a broader picture to cover all the obsure and interesting questions that only 8 to 10 year olds seem to be able to think up. That way they don't just get my viewpoint but information from a wider community.
